      The short version: We only collect the information we need to schedule inspections, deliver reports, and onboard and pay our field inspectors. We never sell your personal information. Sensitive identifiers like Social Security numbers and driver's licenses for background checks are entered directly with our screening provider (Checkr) — not stored by Blue Hawk.
    

1. Who we are

This Privacy Policy applies to Blue Hawk Inspection Services LLC ("Blue Hawk," "we," "us," or "our"), a home and commercial inspection company serving the Atlanta and Sandy Springs metro area. You can reach us at (404) 795-4968 or admin@bluehawkinspections.com.

2. Information we collect

From clients and website visitors: your name, email address, phone number, property address, the service you request, and the contents of any message or agreement you submit through our website forms.

From independent field inspectors ("subcontractors") during onboarding:

Contact and business details (name, business/LLC name, email, phone, mailing address);
Signed agreements and acknowledgments (Independent Subcontractor Agreement and Exhibit A);
Authorization to run a background check;
Bank account details you provide for direct-deposit payment; and
Tax information from your IRS Form W-9 (legal name, address, and taxpayer identification number), used to pay you and issue your annual Form 1099-NEC.

3. Sensitive information — how it's handled

We designed our onboarding to keep the most sensitive data out of our own systems wherever possible:

Background checks (SSN, date of birth, driver's license): These are entered by you directly with Checkr, Inc., our third-party consumer reporting agency, through their secure portal. Blue Hawk initiates the request and receives a pass/fail result — we do not collect or store your SSN, date of birth, or driver's license number for the background check.
Tax ID (W-9): Your completed W-9 is stored in a restricted, access-controlled folder and used only for tax reporting.
Bank details: Direct-deposit information is stored confidentially and used only to pay you for approved work.

4. How we use your information

To schedule, perform, and deliver inspections and reports;
To communicate with you about your booking, agreement, or onboarding;
To onboard, screen, and pay independent field inspectors;
To meet our legal, tax, and recordkeeping obligations; and
To operate, maintain, and improve our services.

5. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us run our business, and only as needed, including:

Google Workspace (Forms, Sheets, Drive, Gmail, Calendar) — to collect submissions, store records, and communicate;
Checkr, Inc. — to perform background screening with your authorization; and
Payment, accounting, and legal providers as required to pay inspectors and comply with the law.

We may also disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or to protect our rights, our clients, or the public.

6. Background checks & your FCRA rights

Background checks are performed in accordance with the federal Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and applicable state law. Before a check is run, you provide separate written authorization. If we decide not to engage you based in whole or in part on the results of a background check, you will receive the notices required by the FCRA, including a copy of the report and a summary of your rights, and an opportunity to dispute inaccurate information.

7. How long we keep information

We keep personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described here or as required by law (for example, tax records are retained for the period required by the IRS). When information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it.

8. How we protect information

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, including access-restricted storage within our Google Workspace and reliance on vetted third-party providers for the most sensitive data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information and limit access to those who need it.

9. Your choices

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal information we hold about you, subject to our legal and recordkeeping obligations. To make a request, contact us at admin@bluehawkinspections.com. You may also decline to provide certain information, though this may prevent us from providing services or engaging you as an inspector.

10. Children's privacy

Our services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent version. Material changes will be posted on this page.
